Health and Safety

Health and Safety is an integral part of how we undertake our business activities and operations. Our aim is to minimise harm to those in the workplace or those affected by workplace activities to maintain sites free of incidents and injuries.

Health and safety within our industry is of paramount importance if the construction industry is to have an impact on reducing accidents at work and our commitment to operating safe working practices is at the forefront of every employees mind when working on site. Through regular training, induction courses and audits the health and safety of our employees, sub contractors, suppliers, clients and their professionals is imperative.

Our Health & Safety Statement
It is our Board's intention to ensure that all work activities are carried out in accordance with our Policy and all relevant statutory provisions. Our Health and Safety Policy sets out the organisation and procedures for managing health and safety throughout its operations.

The Board has nominated Tom Martin as having particular responsibility for Health, Safety and Welfare for Virtus Contracts Ltd.

We will provide all practicable measures, including equipment, information, instruction, training and supervision for employees and contractors, to ensure that their work activities do not put at risk, themselves, their colleagues, occupiers of premises, contractors, visitors or members of the public.

To provide Health and Safety Assistance, as required under current legislation, the services of an external Health and Safety Consultant, will be utilised when necessary.

Where additional training of employees is identified all necessary resources will be provided. All sub-contract workers will be required to demonstrate proof of their training and competence prior to their appointment.

Our' policy is that all employees will be consulted on aspects of their work activities that impact upon health, safety and welfare.

The policy will be brought to the attention of all employees and contractors employed by us. The contents of the policy will be reviewed annually using the assistance of an external consultant where necessary.
